Tiki Star is not the dark and closed off tiki bar/restaurant that I have come to expect in Arizona, since there is no ocean view to enjoy so there is no need to look out side. Tiki Star has the open view you might expect from a location on the coast with the garage door style windows to open up when the weather is right. With seats a plenty, and a bar to boot, there is always a good place to sit, and the decor is enjoyable with many theme appropriate lights and decorations/masks around the room. The environment invites you in for what can be considered a relaxing lunch with a friend by your side and a Mai Tai in your hand. I have enjoyed my visits.
Although Tiki Star has been open for over a year and a half I can say I don’t think I have been more that three times. I have to travel a bit to get to Peoria where Tiki Star is located, and that’s a the main reason I haven’t visited more, Prices are what you would expect to be eating out or having a drink, I never felt I was being over charged.
I always felt Tiki Star was always hidden in it’s location, nestled in with other shops and restaurants that conflicted with the idea of a tiki bar. That was not a factor preventing me from visiting it was that damn drive. But it may have been a major factor for others though, because this past Sunday was for Tiki Star’s last day.
I was fortunate to make it back for one last visit and enjoy one last drink!
Aloha Tiki Star!
